Our relationship with Maryam is born out of a shared passion for old-world craftsmanship. Adhering to the concept of 'slow manufacturing' when tanning heavyweight horsebutts, we created an exclusive product that is an accurate historical representation of pre-1940s footwear.
This heavyweight, veg-tanned horsebutt leather is stuffed with oils and fats in drums, allowing full penetration into the Shell areas of the hide. This process softens the leather, allowing it to better form to the last during the Stitchdown process.
