In the late 1960s we began producing several pull-on Western style boots in response to market demand. This was also our first foray into Goodyear Welt construction. By the late 1970s we had discontinued most of these styles and shifted our focus towards our industrial logging boots. Taking inspiration from this period in our history, the Roper references our original Western pattern, but with a lower height originally developed for the Japanese market. For the launch of this style on Viberg.com we chose the versatile Snuff Calf Suede and paired it with a white Morflex Sole from Vibram Italy. The combination creates a casual, lightweight boot that is surprisingly wearable. Click through for the full feature and purchase the Roper Snuff Calf Suede here.
Our most recent Service Boot release takes inspiration from mid-century workwear. We sourced a full-grain, vegetable tanned horsebutt from Italy, similar to the leather found on vintage workboots, with the shell area of the hide left intact. We chose the 2040 last, with a narrow waist and slight toe bump, for a more traditional shape. The dark Brown leather is complimented by a Natural Midsole and eight Vintage Brass Eyelets. This boot pairs perfectly with looser denim and chinos or military style surplus pants. Click through for the full feature and purchase the Service Boot Brown Horsebutt here.
Our most recent Service Boot release comes in a very special, limited run leather from our friends at Horween that we are calling Crust Horsehide. This full-grain leather is tanned just like regular Chromexcel before being placed into the Cordovan pits for 30 days. During this time the leather absorbs the bark blends making it both heavier and denser. Finally the hides are hot stuffed and then left in a natural crust state. Last Friday we had the pleasure of launching our Pop-Up Shop at Freemans Sporting Club in New York's Lower East Side. The shop will run for three months (April 15 - June 30) and features a selection of signature styles alongside new and exclusive models. This is the largest variety of Viberg product to ever be featured in one shop, so it's a unique opportunity to experience our different offerings in person. New products will be available throughout the duration of the event, including a limited amount of Shell Cordovan, so be sure to check back often if you are in the neighbourhood. The second release of our brand new Slipper pattern comes in a full-grain Black Calf Suede from the UK. This luscious leather is the perfect pairing for the unstructured, lightweight shoe. Sitting atop a blacked out leather sole, this tonal variation of the Slipper works with everything from trousers to swim-trunks.
