Based off of a Vintage Canadian Military Parade last. This last features a low profile silhouette and elongated almond shape toe. This last accommodates most foot shapes in the standard E width. Due to the research and development of the 2030 last, this tends to fit almost every type of foot. Our 2030 is our most commonly used last and is a good basis of comparison when looking to fitting our other lasts.

The Bastion Oxford is an archival pattern created by Edwin Viberg dating back to 1960. It is slightly more formal than the Derby or Rockland Blucher because it features a closed lacing system in which the quarters, the side tabs where the shoelace eyelets are punctured, are sewn under the vamp. We have updated the original style by tightly trimming the waist with a round blade, allowing it to contour to the shape of the last.

The Bastion Oxford

Dating back to 1960, the Bastion Oxford is an updated version of an archival pattern that was created by Edwin Viberg. A round blade is used to contour the shape of the last, creating the signature tightly trimmed waist and heel of this revised pattern. Designed with formal dressing in mind, the Bastion Oxford is produced using Viberg Channeled Insole Goodyear Welt construction to ensure the same level of durability as an our industrial products.

Over the past half decade, we have been sourcing and collecting specialty machines that allow us to build this new collection, while also implementing these techniques and unique details throughout our full product range.

C.F. Stead Waxy Commander

C.F. Stead's Commander is a rugged, heavyweight waxed leather that has been specially cured to shrink and tighten the fibre structure, resulting in an extremely tough, durable, water-resistant waxed suede. It features a very waxy touch and high pull-up that allows for slow development of colour and texture.
