The City collection represents the essence of what makes Viberg unique and contains our most innovative products to date.
This journey began in 2010, when we had the opportunity to collaborate with a well-known performance footwear brand. As a small factory, with a history of Goodyear welt and Stitchdown construction, we were challenged to develop a range of soft-soled performance footwear while remaining true to our belief in authentic shoemaking. The products in this collection are the product of our innovation as a brand and our skill as shoemakers.
The collection includes our iconic Scout Boot, which combines the benefits of Goodyear construction with the demands of an urban environment. The Sneaker and Slip-on articulate a marked evolution of our capabilities, while still honouring traditional craft with luxury materials.
The style references classic 1980’s trainers, which are timeless in both design and utility.
This is a performance sneaker that is worn casually and is perfect for urban commuting. As part of our continued commitment toward sustainability, the Sneaker is fully resoleable.
The Slide was designed to showcase 90 years of shoe making expertise, in an entry-level product.
Totally deconstructed, and intended for both indoor and outdoor use, the Slide packs flat with ease and is perfect for traveling. The Slide is fully-lined and features a 2mm leather midsole.
Our Slip-On was first released in 2018 to complement The Sneaker, as part of our desire to add soft-soled footwear to our main collection.
Based on classic 1960’s vulcanized slip-ons, the Viberg Slip-On features a cup sole with a sidewall stitched to the upper.
This is a very accessible product that can be worn year-round. This classic silhouette is finished with French binding which is a common design feature throughout the collection.
Similar to the Sneaker, the Slip-On is fully resoleable.
The Scout boot was originally created for the Japanese market in 2010.
The pattern is based off of our #45 Hunter boot, a 10” industrial style, that dates back to the early 1950’s. The Scout is a shortened version, at 6”, and is constructed with Viberg Goodyear Channeled Insole construction.
This boot was originally intended to have hemp or denim inserts on the quarter panels, both of which can be found in very early production models.
The Scout is typically produced with a lightweight wedge sole, making it perfect for the demands of the urban environment.
