Service Boot Tumbled Black Shell Cordovan
We are excited to showcase our April Shell Cordovan release, featuring a debut product from Horween. The Service Boot in Tumbled Black Shell Cordovan was crafted using Shells that have been tumbled in a large wooden drum (pictured below, photo by Nick Horween). This is a common treatment to soften leather and add texture and grain to materials like cowhide or calfskin, but would never normally be applied to something like Shell Cordovan. We worked with Horween to develop this concept and waited nearly a year for a small allocation of the leather. This unique treatment creates a matte finish and an uneven texture. To highlight this character, we designed this Service Boot with tonal details and no visible hardware. Finally, we chose our Vintage Last to further accentuate the worn in appearance.
