Service Boot® 2040 - Zulu Waxed Kudu

$785
Select Size

In the US & Canada, Viberg Boots size differently so we recommend sizing down 1 full size, or if you have wide feet, 1/2 a size down. Unless noted, all widths are size E.

Worldwide, take your standard size. If you need sizing help, reach out on chat.

Our 2040 references a vintage 1940s work boot. The fit of this last is semi anatomical meaning the forefront is wider to allow room across the ball of the foot, while the waist and heel narrow to secure the foot and cup the heel.
In addition, the toe box is slightly elevated creating a slight bump, which allows more room for your toes while working.

For sizing, we recommended going one size smaller than your Brannock size.
The 2040 fits similar in length to our 2030 last.

Our iconic Stitchdown Service Boot® features a double row of stitching that attaches the upper to the sole.   Because the upper is turned outward before being attached to the sole, Stitchdown construction causes water and mud to be wicked away from the boot, keeping your feet warm and dry in any conditions.

Small batch, limited run production from our factory in Victoria, BC.

Archival Utility

The rugged utility of the Stitchdown Service Boot® epitomizes our 90-year industrial history of building footwear designed for hard work outside.

Kudu from C.F. Stead

Kudu is an antelope from southern Africa, whose skins have unique characteristics. This interesting finished leather is soft, buttery suede on the reverse side and a nubuck on the grain side. The fibre structure is well suited to our “Janus” tannage, resulting in a strikingly soft touch on the suede side, whilst maintaining a high degree of strength as a heavy weight, reverse leather. On the grain side, there are interesting natural blemishes which have been highlighted by processing the skin as a nubuck. These characteristics make a unique casual appearance, especially in the stitch-down construction.

Limited Production

Viberg is a small workshop with a maximum capacity of 10,000 pairs per year. Our small production runs, timeless silhouettes, and custom leathers support our adherence to "slow manufacturing." This process emphasizes the importance of each link in the chain, both people and materials, and creates a sense of purpose and belonging that makes Viberg different from every other footwear brand.
