Our Derby was first introduced in 1960 when Edwin Viberg developed this style for workers who needed a durable, less rugged alternative to a workboot. We brought this style back into our collection in 2014 and updated Ed's original pattern by giving a more contemporary shape to the quarter panels and finishing the edges with French binding.
C.F. Stead's Kudu has a unique grain pattern, with no two skins being the same. Because these animals have had to adapt to the harsh terrain of the African savannah, Kudu provides a unique combination of softness and strength, and Stead's wax plate finish accentuates the natural character of this leather.
